Six of One

Considering it was cheaper, close to Safeco and had a location with more personality than anywhere else we'd seen on the Eastside - a major park and downtown Redmond still has some holdovers from the pre-Microsoft era when it was a hippie enclave we decided to put in an application.

This is our intended future unit. It's two floors, two bedrooms, has a washer/dryer & decent space. It seems to have a more diverse collection of people than most of the Eastside but so does Buckhead! Downtown Kirkland has to be seen to be believed. As you read the next section keep in mind that we're extremely pleased with where we've found to live, it's got a great park, convienient to Safeco, near all sorts of cool shops and is reasonably priced. We even found a nice independant coffee shop (Victors) that makes a good hot chocolate and has a nice atmoshere (it's uses oil candles & a fireplace for the bulk of it's lighting.)

Now you might be wondering about the title on this page. We're going to compare two towns Redmond & The Village.

Redmond logo left. Village logo right.

People in Redmond "on the town"

People in the Village "on the town."

Village

Redmond. Note that the lake is cut off the map to the south, as is our complex (just south across the river on Leary.) Neither Lake Sammamish, Marymoor Park nor our complex (Willowmoor) paid for advertising, so all 3 have been left off the town map.

Belltower in the Village and Redmond. Or is that Redmond and the Village.
