Hi All,
July 4th is the birth of our nation and also the birthday of Frank, one of our founding fathers :-). Seattle hosts a large fireworks show in honor of Frank's birthday at Gasworks park, a park set on the former site of a natural gas processing facility. Today, the park has been reclaimed and parts of the old plant are now used as a playground. The park sits on a bulge in Lake Union that overlooks a small boat/yacht pier with a grand view of downtown Seattle and the Space Needle.
Most of this postcard will be pictures that we took from the Fireworks show. It wasn't the biggest display we've seen, but the choreography was superb and the display of new fireworks was fascinating. All with a backdrop view of downtown Seattle and the 100's of ships that sailed out to be under the fireworks display.
This isn't actually
Gasworks park, the birthday party or fireworks. This is Demaris & Jay's
garden. To the left is our Rosemary and center is the worlds most expressive
Artichoke. If it doesn't get watered every 36 hours of so it get's all frowny
faced (as above.)
After being watered it
lifts it's leaves up and is all happy again. Behind is our Greek Oregano.
Judy and Frank have
redone their office. The dual position computer station seen here, is a custom
design and build by Frank & Judy. Note the writing table that slides out
(and locks) above the keyboards. If you're interested the rest of the office
pictures are located
here.
