One of the nice things about living in the
Pacific Northwest is that for 9 months out of the year, snow is only about a
hour and a half drive from Redmond. Basically, you just go east and up into the
Cascades. We usually go on U.S. 2 to
Stephens Pass. The
gateway to the mountains is a town called Zekesville. As the sign says "Welcome
to Zekesville, elevation 264, population 5, established 1968." Really good
shakes, Burgers (including Ostrich Burgers) and Fries. Also, lots of critters
wander around.
Another shot from Zekesville.
View during the drive.

Stephens Pass Ski Resort. They hadn't opened as of this shot,
but will about a week later
The Ski Lodge not being open didn't keep people
from sledding on the lower slopes.
Ready,

Aim...

Throw!

A look down at the Ski Lodge from on a slope we trudged
up.
