Another reason we
really like Vegas is they have a really nice
Wet N' Wild water park at the northern
end of the strip.
Seen in the above two
pictures this ride is one of our favorites, "Willy Willy". As Wet N' Wild
describes it: "Named for an Australian whirlwind, the world's first
hydra-hurricane swiftly carries riders on innertubes around a clockwise course
in a 90-foot diameter pool at a rate of ten miles per hour." Lots of fun with 1
and 2 person rafts
Der Stuka and Bomb
Bay, two of their more aggressive offerings.
The Royal Flush, a
personal favorite of Jay's. It's a medium-fast slide that builds up a great
deal of velocity...
Whereupon you're
placed into one of these chambers. Your downward velocity is translates into
rotational velocity and you go shooting around the edge of the chamber. Until
friction sets in and you get (usually ungracefully) dumped out into the pool
below.
This looks like a lap
pool. However, it's really the "Lazy River" ride. The Lazy River is a 1/4 loop
that goes around the park and passes by all the rides. It has a 2-3mph current
and a 3.5" depth. The Lazy River is designed for a casual floating or as a
in-water transportation system for the park.
