Lunch under a shade tree in Old Town Albuquerque

Inside of a circa 1700 church.

Outside of above mentioned church. Just as an aside "Old Town Albuquerque" is about as authentic as Helen, GA. There is 1 18th century building (the church above) and it has been completely refaced not to original specs but to what people think original specs are. The rest of "Old Town" are primarily buildings from the 1980's and 90's that are gift shops selling "Authentic" Indian Art/Jewlery at 50% off. There are about 17 buildings on their walking tour, most are from the 1890's to 1910 (this is in about a 20 block area) these have all been refaced to "Authentic" Mexican Plaza design as well.

A really nice part of Albuquerque is the scenery. Note the mountains past the buildings.

The mountains past the buildings.

Cool rocks on the mountain past the buildings.

More of those cool rocks.

Rio Rancho home of Intel. The main plant is here and is about 1/2 mi long. Seen is plant #17.

Sorry we don't have more of Albuquerque but the rest of the city looks like Buford Hwy. We drove around a large % of the town. The houses are generally nice SW style buildings (stucco) but the entire town is depressed (economically) and has that lower middle class strip mall feel.
