New Mexico driving scenery. It just gets prettier and prettier.

Arizona. Prettier than New Mexico.

Painted Desert. About 100' and blistering hot. Elevation approx 5000 so you get 20% bonus U.V. (The formula is 4% per 1000' for extra UV rays.)

Another vista in the desert.

Petrified Forest. Crystal Forest to be specific note the quartzy stuff in the near log.

Lots of petrified wood.

This shot and the next are for Micheal B. Route 66 in New Mexico/Arizona is everythingyou could hope for. Petrified from the 50's.

Jay in front of a wigwam. BTW they don't have AC (hence no one staying there including us - temp 100'.)

Demaris and J's campsite at Grand Canyon Yavapai Lodge. It's camping for Jay. No AC, No cable. On the plus side tempetures in the Rockies at altitude (unike the desert) are comfortable (and it's really green here - birch and pine.)

Late evening Canyon shot. The haze in the background is there (and will be there tommorow.) In order to prevent forest fires they're burning the north rim.

Sunset view over the canyon.

Final shot for evening of canyon wall.

A few comments. All the guests around here are foriegn mainly German but strong Russian, Japanesse and other representations. Atmosphere is like a youth hostel.
