Day 22

A building on the University of Oregon Campus.

Demaris going into the math building.

The Computer Information Science building. Note the gargoyles, von Neumann and Turing.

This is the place we expect to be moving in to on Oct. 10th.

A view of one of the mountains around Eugene.

This is where we are living until Oct. 10th. It's an Extended Stay America (same company different brand name.)

Our kitchenette.

As you can tell by our not getting housing until Oct. 10th finding a decent (not rundown, close to campus (2mi or less) and not BIG $$$ is rough. Housing is generally cheaper here than in Atlanta but much smaller (the 2 bedroom we're moving into is 880 sq. ft.) The smallest was about 600sq ft (yes for a 2 bedroom) ours is the second largest we saw (#1 was $$$.)

It is hard to find a real bargain and many places have no availability in Fall (town of 120,000 gets 20,000 students and faculty in Fall.) All in all were happy with what we found, moving in after classes start isn't great though. It's about a 25 minute walk to class from the apartment and as you can tell from the picture a modern build.

Dinner was at an Eats type restaurant that shares space with a Starbucks. Good pasta and salads.

Well we're here, settled in (sort of), our trip around the country is over so this is the last card in the series we'll be sending you. Thanks for all you kind e-mails, and support. Extra thanks to Clay for the use of his Kodak DC20 and of course Photobooks for allowing us to use their drivespace and bandwith. We hope to here from y'all soon and often. Sincerely,

Demaris and Jay
