This is a list of the wineries that I've been to and particullarly liked. As I like to throughly research the wines in a region, I've had to select particullary small regions. Listed are the wines of particular note.

Georgia Wineries: See All American Wineries for links and contact information
Chateau Elan Winery Large and impersonal but with impressive grounds and a nice tour.
Wine Comment
Duncan Creek Probably the best muscadine wine in GA and since muscadines are only grown in the south, probably anywhere. ONLY get this one however. The other "flavored" ones are about as appealing as adding flavored syrup to an already sweet wine.

In case you're wondering what their secret is, it's simple. They're very careful to skin the muscadines (requires special equipment - not the usual grape skinning tools) and to make sure none of the skin is in the wine. Muscadine skins are extremely bitter.
Winter Spice A decent wine for making mulled wine.
Rest Avoid
Chesnut Mountain Winery
Wine Comment
House Red Probably the best Red in Georgia. Not too much bite and a nice flavor.
Rest Not bad. CA isn't in trouble but better than the $3 special from trader Joes.
Kennesaw Mountain Vineyards No confirmation that they're still in operation
Wine Comment
Clover A nice crisp, sweet white.
Rest Avoid
Non-Yakima Valley Washington Wineries: See Washington Wineries for links and contact information
San Juan Vineyards On San Juan Island
Wine Comment
2000 Merlot A remarkably smooth and flavorful merlot
Rest Acceptable, but not spectacular. A little pricey.
Columbia Winery Woodinville, the premier winery in the Puget Sound area. Large and kinda impersonal.
Wine Comment
2000 Gewürztraminer A fantastic Gewürztraminer. Of course you need to really like a sweet wine.
1999 Chardonnay The worst wine I've ever tasted. The first time I've been in danger of spitting out the wine I was provided at a tasting.
Rest Whites are good. However, after the Chardonnay I'm not a big fan of their Reds.
Distefano Winery A strange small winery located in a Woodinville industrial park. They seem to discharge into the sewer giving the industrial park a fascinating "air".
Wine Comment
Meritage A nice red. Pricy however.
Ottimo They claim it's a favorite. The strong sulfite flavor turned me off. Also, pricy
Rest Mediocre overall and overpriced.
SILVER LAKE WINERY Probably my favorite Woodinville winery. Small enough to be friendly but large enough to have a nice selection.
Wine Comment
2000 Chardonnay Nice white with a mild aftertaste.
1999 Reserve Merlot A really nice red. Mild, slightly smokey.
1999 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Similar to the Merlot but the bite makes it much less appealing
Rest Reasonable and moderately priced. They also have a penchant for discounts at the winery.
